The Story of Us

Italia Bella Amore Mio was born from a passion rooted far in the past — in the classrooms of a 1970s elementary school, where a curious child first discovered the fascination of Roman history.

That child was Cristiano64 (his Wikipedia nickname), and that spark never faded.

Over the years, that curiosity became study, dedication, and cultural volunteer work.

For more than a decade, Cristiano64 contributed to Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, writing hundreds of entries on Ancient Rome and creating dozens upon dozens of maps and charts.

As the years went by, that curiosity turned into study, research, love, dedication and, later on, into genuine cultural volunteering.

Already in his high‑school days, Cristiano64 brought the history of Rome into the classroom, presenting research projects, drawing maps, and recounting episodes and characters from ancient Rome with both rigor and passion.

Together with other enthusiasts, he helped build the Ancient Rome Portal, a collective work that two emeritus professors — Giovanni Geraci and Arnaldo Marcone — described as ‘a convenient access point to entries of interest for Roman history, often of good quality.’

His passion also carried him beyond the digital world: he collaborated with Professor Giovanni Brizzi on the article Lions on the Danube, presented in 2010 at the conference Rome and the Provinces of the Danube.

A journey shaped by study, rigor, and an authentic love for our history.

From all this, Italia Bella Amore Mio was born: not just an e‑commerce, but a place where culture, beauty, and Italian identity meet.

A project that aims to bring a fragment of that passion into people’s homes, transforming it into objects, ideas, and inspirations that tell the story of who we are.

And then there is a detail that reveals the project’s more playful spirit: its name.

Italia Bella Amore Mio — IBAM — was inspired while listening to the famous That’s Amore by Dean Martin, a light‑hearted and irresistible ode to Italy, to its beauty, and to its unique way of making the world fall in love.

From that melody came a smile… and from that smile, the name of the site.

Italia Bella Amore Mio is the result of a lifelong journey — a journey that continues, and that now opens itself to everyone.

Our Team

We are a team of young and not‑so‑young creatives, dreamers, and visionaries with a clear mission:

to make culture… everyday, discovery… fun, and history… accessible.

We believe that History is life’s greatest teacher (Cicero: “Historia magistra vitae est”) and that it should be lived, not merely admired.

Beautiful things belong to everyone — not only to those who already know them or study them.

We want to open the doors of Italian History to all, making it vivid, enjoyable, accessible, and part of daily life.

Because Italy is not just a place… it is also a way of life, an inspiration.
