Product description

This canvas celebrates The Last Supper, Leonardo da Vinci’s renowned masterpiece painted between 1494 and 1498 in the refectory of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, commissioned by Ludovico il Moro. Considered one of the greatest achievements of the Renaissance, the work was executed using an experimental ‘dry’ technique on plaster, which allowed Leonardo to achieve luminous effects and delicate transparencies impossible with traditional fresco. However, this technique soon proved unsuitable for the humidity of the refectory, causing rapid deterioration already documented in the sixteenth century.

The painting has undergone centuries of restorations, overpainting, and severe damage, culminating in the major intervention completed in 1999—one of the longest and most complex in the history of art. Today it is preserved and managed by the Museo del Cenacolo Vinciano, among the most visited state museums in Italy.

The commission arose within the broader renovation of the convent, intended to celebrate the Sforza family. While Donato Montorfano painted a Crucifixion on the opposite wall, Leonardo was entrusted with the Last Supper, into which he poured years of study on perspective, anatomy, and psychology. The writer Matteo Bandello recounts his irregular working method: entire days of uninterrupted labor alternating with long pauses of contemplation.

Leonardo profoundly renewed the traditional iconography by choosing the most dramatic moment of the Last Supper: the announcement of the betrayal, when Christ declares, ‘One of you will betray me.’ The apostles are arranged in groups of three, captured in their ‘motions of the soul,’ like emotional waves that spread outward and converge toward the central figure of Christ. He remains calm, bathed in a light that isolates and distinguishes him, while Judas, shrouded in shadow, clutches the purse of silver—a moral contrast that Vasari highlights with force and admiration.

In this compositional choice, Judas is not separated from the others but sits among the apostles, on the same side of the table facing the viewer. This detail heightens the narrative tension and makes the presence of the traitor even more striking within the group. Giorgio Vasari praises the painting as the supreme example of Leonardo’s ability to render the ‘motions of the soul,’ giving the scene a vitality that seems almost to breathe.

Because of the deterioration of the original, the large copy made around 1515 by the pupil Giampietrino plays a crucial role. Once kept at the Certosa di Pavia and, since 1821, at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, it is fundamental for understanding the original appearance of Leonardo’s masterpiece.

Our Mission

Our project is a playful‑cultural experience designed for anyone who wants to live history in a new way:

from teenagers, who can approach the great events of the past in an engaging and enjoyable manner, to enthusiasts who wish to enrich their homes with artistic canvases capable of elegantly telling the stories and protagonists of our nation’s past.

The characters we portray are not simply figures from history: they are the roots of our identity, the voices that shaped our culture, our way of thinking, and even the places we inhabit.

Beyond visual impact, we want to restore the pleasure of touch: not only through the natural texture of cotton, but also through the tactile depth and glossy highlights achieved during printing — details that add dimension and a uniquely sensory feel.

In an age dominated by digital screens, our canvases invite you to rediscover an authentic, physical, and sensorial experience.

It is a product that blends quality and culture — but above all, it is an invitation to rediscover the pride of belonging to an extraordinary history.

Because being Italian means carrying with us a heritage that deserves to be celebrated.

Where are our products made?

Our products are entirely made in Italy, within the Over S.r.l. facility — a company active in the cardboard sector since 1978.

In 2025, a production department dedicated to digital printing for visual communication was introduced, allowing us to combine industrial expertise and aesthetic research within a single production space.

Every stage of the process takes place in‑house: from design to printing, from production to packaging, all the way to shipping. Everything is managed in our warehouse, giving us direct control over quality, materials, and timing.

IBAM is a registered trademark of Over Srl: a choice that ensures 100% Italian production, a short supply chain, and high quality standards.

For us, ‘Made in Italy’ is not a label — it is a concrete process, followed step by step.

What materials do we use for our products?

We place great importance on the quality of our canvas prints, made from 100% cotton — plastic‑free and naturally eco‑friendly.

We use GREENGUARD Gold‑certified inks, which ensure vibrant colors and exceptional long‑term stability, enhancing every historical and iconographic detail.

Likewise, for our cat beds we use corrugated cardboard, a fully eco‑sustainable material thanks to its recyclable nature.

A choice that combines environmental respect, functionality, and care for our four‑legged friends.

Difference between Textured Finish and Flat Finish

The textured finish allows for extremely realistic reproductions, adding depth and three‑dimensionality to the image.

Thanks to the use of up to nine layers of matte and glossy UV varnish, it creates a raised effect that simulates real brushstrokes and enhances the most distinctive details of the illustration.

High‑definition flat illustrations, on the other hand, use a single layer of matte UV varnish: they have no relief, but ensure vibrant, stable colors that remain resistant over time and to sunlight.
