Product description
This canvas map reconstructs Milan at the time of the Five Days of 1848, restoring both the urban landscape and the political atmosphere of a city at the heart of the Risorgimento.
The drawing is inspired by several historical maps, particularly William Barnard Clarke’s 1832 plan, enriched with the construction dates of the main buildings and monuments already standing in 1848: from the Arena Civica to the Arch of Peace, from Teatro alla Scala to Teatro Carcano. The result is a precise urban portrait that allows pre‑unification Milan to be read through its symbolic architecture.
On either side of the map appear the busts of the era’s key figures, embodying the political and cultural tensions of the period. In the foreground stands Napoleon Bonaparte, who made Milan the capital of the Kingdom of Italy and left a decisive urban imprint—from the push to complete the façade of the Duomo to the ambitious design of the Foro Buonaparte, of which only the Arena Civica was realized.
Beside him are the faces of Field Marshal Josef Radetzky, symbol of Austrian rule, and the leaders of the Milanese uprising such as Gabrio Casati, Carlo Cattaneo, and Cesare Correnti.
Completing the tableau are the inspirational figures of Italian patriotism: Alessandro Manzoni, author of the ode Marzo 1821, and Giuseppe Verdi, whose Nabucco—premiered at La Scala in 1842—became an emblem of national sentiment.
The map also contextualizes the long political transition preceding 1848: from the Napoleonic era to the Restoration established by the Congress of Vienna, when Milan became the capital of the Lombardy‑Venetia Kingdom under the Austrian Empire. It was a period marked by cultural ferment, the birth of Milanese Romanticism with Il Conciliatore, the work of Hayez, and a growing desire for independence.
At the heart of the narrative, however, remains the uprising of the Five Days, from 18 to 22 March 1848: the barricades, Radetzky’s retreat, the formation of the Provisional Government, the arrival of Piedmontese troops, and the raising of the tricolour over the Duomo. A brief yet decisive moment that anticipated the path toward Italian unification, completed only after the Second War of Independence and the Peace of Zurich in 1859.
The canvas thus becomes a visual and historical synthesis: a Milan in transformation, suspended between foreign domination, national aspirations, and major urban projects, narrated through the places, faces, and dates that shaped its destiny.

Our Mission
Our project is a playful‑cultural experience designed for anyone who wants to live history in a new way:
from teenagers, who can approach the great events of the past in an engaging and enjoyable manner, to enthusiasts who wish to enrich their homes with artistic canvases capable of elegantly telling the stories and protagonists of our nation’s past.
The characters we portray are not simply figures from history: they are the roots of our identity, the voices that shaped our culture, our way of thinking, and even the places we inhabit.
Beyond visual impact, we want to restore the pleasure of touch: not only through the natural texture of cotton, but also through the tactile depth and glossy highlights achieved during printing — details that add dimension and a uniquely sensory feel.
In an age dominated by digital screens, our canvases invite you to rediscover an authentic, physical, and sensorial experience.
It is a product that blends quality and culture — but above all, it is an invitation to rediscover the pride of belonging to an extraordinary history.
Because being Italian means carrying with us a heritage that deserves to be celebrated.
Where are our products made?
Our products are entirely made in Italy, within the Over S.r.l. facility — a company active in the cardboard sector since 1978.
In 2025, a production department dedicated to digital printing for visual communication was introduced, allowing us to combine industrial expertise and aesthetic research within a single production space.
Every stage of the process takes place in‑house: from design to printing, from production to packaging, all the way to shipping. Everything is managed in our warehouse, giving us direct control over quality, materials, and timing.
IBAM is a registered trademark of Over Srl: a choice that ensures 100% Italian production, a short supply chain, and high quality standards.
For us, ‘Made in Italy’ is not a label — it is a concrete process, followed step by step.
What materials do we use for our products?
We place great importance on the quality of our canvas prints, made from 100% cotton — plastic‑free and naturally eco‑friendly.
We use GREENGUARD Gold‑certified inks, which ensure vibrant colors and exceptional long‑term stability, enhancing every historical and iconographic detail.
Likewise, for our cat beds we use corrugated cardboard, a fully eco‑sustainable material thanks to its recyclable nature.
A choice that combines environmental respect, functionality, and care for our four‑legged friends.
Difference between Textured Finish and Flat Finish
The textured finish allows for extremely realistic reproductions, adding depth and three‑dimensionality to the image.
Thanks to the use of up to nine layers of matte and glossy UV varnish, it creates a raised effect that simulates real brushstrokes and enhances the most distinctive details of the illustration.
High‑definition flat illustrations, on the other hand, use a single layer of matte UV varnish: they have no relief, but ensure vibrant, stable colors that remain resistant over time and to sunlight.
