Product description

This Roman Mediolanum canvas print tells the story of ancient Milan, from its Celtic origins to the period when it became the capital of the Western Roman Empire. Combining Roman history, archaeology, and historical art, this artwork celebrates the evolution of one of the most important cities of the Roman world.

The scene highlights the foundation of Mediolanum in 222 BC, when the Romans conquered the principal settlement of the Insubres and transformed the former Celtic town into a strategic center of Cisalpine Gaul. Thanks to its position in the Po Valley and its proximity to major trade and military routes, Mediolanum rapidly developed into a political, economic, and military hub of northern Italy.

During the age of Julius Caesar, Roman Milan obtained the status of municipium and was enriched with a forum, theatre, and city walls. In the centuries that followed, the city became one of the most important Roman strongholds near the Germanic frontier (Limes Germanicus), playing a key role in the defense of the Roman Empire.

The artwork recalls the golden age of Mediolanum under Diocletian and Maximian, when Milan became the capital of the Western Roman Empire. Imperial palaces, baths, a circus, and monumental buildings transformed the city into one of the great metropolises of the Roman world. It was here, in AD 313, that the famous Edict of Milan was proclaimed by Constantine, a landmark event in the history of Christianity.

The canvas also pays tribute to the Milan of Saint Ambrose and the final centuries of the Western Roman Empire, presenting more than six hundred years of Roman history through a composition rich in historical and cultural references.

Perfect for enthusiasts of Ancient Rome, Roman Milan, Roman Empire history, and Italian historical art, this canvas print transforms the story of Mediolanum into a sophisticated decorative piece with strong cultural and visual impact.

Our Mission

Our project is a playful‑cultural experience designed for anyone who wants to live history in a new way:

from teenagers, who can approach the great events of the past in an engaging and enjoyable manner, to enthusiasts who wish to enrich their homes with artistic canvases capable of elegantly telling the stories and protagonists of our nation’s past.

The characters we portray are not simply figures from history: they are the roots of our identity, the voices that shaped our culture, our way of thinking, and even the places we inhabit.

Beyond visual impact, we want to restore the pleasure of touch: not only through the natural texture of cotton, but also through the tactile depth and glossy highlights achieved during printing — details that add dimension and a uniquely sensory feel.

In an age dominated by digital screens, our canvases invite you to rediscover an authentic, physical, and sensorial experience.

It is a product that blends quality and culture — but above all, it is an invitation to rediscover the pride of belonging to an extraordinary history.

Because being Italian means carrying with us a heritage that deserves to be celebrated.

Where are our products made?

Our products are entirely made in Italy, within the Over S.r.l. facility — a company active in the cardboard sector since 1978.

In 2025, a production department dedicated to digital printing for visual communication was introduced, allowing us to combine industrial expertise and aesthetic research within a single production space.

Every stage of the process takes place in‑house: from design to printing, from production to packaging, all the way to shipping. Everything is managed in our warehouse, giving us direct control over quality, materials, and timing.

IBAM is a registered trademark of Over Srl: a choice that ensures 100% Italian production, a short supply chain, and high quality standards.

For us, ‘Made in Italy’ is not a label — it is a concrete process, followed step by step.

What materials do we use for our products?

We place great importance on the quality of our canvas prints, made from 100% cotton — plastic‑free and naturally eco‑friendly.

We use GREENGUARD Gold‑certified inks, which ensure vibrant colors and exceptional long‑term stability, enhancing every historical and iconographic detail.

Likewise, for our cat beds we use corrugated cardboard, a fully eco‑sustainable material thanks to its recyclable nature.

A choice that combines environmental respect, functionality, and care for our four‑legged friends.

Difference between Textured Finish and Flat Finish

The textured finish allows for extremely realistic reproductions, adding depth and three‑dimensionality to the image.

Thanks to the use of up to nine layers of matte and glossy UV varnish, it creates a raised effect that simulates real brushstrokes and enhances the most distinctive details of the illustration.

High‑definition flat illustrations, on the other hand, use a single layer of matte UV varnish: they have no relief, but ensure vibrant, stable colors that remain resistant over time and to sunlight.
