Product description
This canvas depicts the profectio of Marcus Aurelius at the beginning of the secunda expeditio germanica, in the year 178, when the philosopher‑emperor, after remaining in Rome for a couple of years, prepared to resume direct command of operations on the Danubian front. The scene unfolds vertically, like a solemn procession crossing the Eternal City and rising toward the symbols of imperial glory.
At the center, Marcus Aurelius advances on horseback, with the calm and determined attitude that the sources attribute to him in the most difficult moments of the wars against the Marcomanni, Quadi, and Sarmatian Iazyges. He wears the military cloak, the paludamentum, which falls neatly over his shoulders, while his right hand seems to gesture a greeting to the crowd. The horse proceeds with a steady pace along a paved Roman street, rendered in warm tones, as if the city itself were participating in the destiny of its emperor.
On either side, the Roman crowd gathers to acclaim him: citizens, veterans, women with children, all captured in a whirlwind of gestures and glances that express both pride and unease. They know that the new campaign will be long and uncertain, but they recognize in Marcus Aurelius the guarantor of the empire’s stability.
Two Praetorians on horseback escort him, armed with shield and gladius and wearing their characteristic decorated helmets. Their presence introduces a martial rhythm to the composition and underscores the official nature of the departure.
In the upper part of the canvas, in the background, stands the Triumphal Arch dedicated to Marcus Aurelius in 176, here represented as an ideal reconstruction based on the surviving panels preserved in the Capitoline Museums and those reused in the Arch of Constantine. The arch, reinterpreted according to Cristiano64’s vision, appears as a visual bridge between the glory already achieved and that still to be won. Its sculpted scenes—victories, submissions, acts of clemency—seem to watch from above as the emperor sets out toward the second chapter of a war that had begun more than ten years earlier (166/167). The canvas celebrates not only the departure for war, but also the sense of responsibility and sacrifice universally associated with the philosopher‑emperor.

Our Mission
Our project is a playful‑cultural experience designed for anyone who wants to live history in a new way:
from teenagers, who can approach the great events of the past in an engaging and enjoyable manner, to enthusiasts who wish to enrich their homes with artistic canvases capable of elegantly telling the stories and protagonists of our nation’s past.
The characters we portray are not simply figures from history: they are the roots of our identity, the voices that shaped our culture, our way of thinking, and even the places we inhabit.
Beyond visual impact, we want to restore the pleasure of touch: not only through the natural texture of cotton, but also through the tactile depth and glossy highlights achieved during printing — details that add dimension and a uniquely sensory feel.
In an age dominated by digital screens, our canvases invite you to rediscover an authentic, physical, and sensorial experience.
It is a product that blends quality and culture — but above all, it is an invitation to rediscover the pride of belonging to an extraordinary history.
Because being Italian means carrying with us a heritage that deserves to be celebrated.
Where are our products made?
Our products are entirely made in Italy, within the Over S.r.l. facility — a company active in the cardboard sector since 1978.
In 2025, a production department dedicated to digital printing for visual communication was introduced, allowing us to combine industrial expertise and aesthetic research within a single production space.
Every stage of the process takes place in‑house: from design to printing, from production to packaging, all the way to shipping. Everything is managed in our warehouse, giving us direct control over quality, materials, and timing.
IBAM is a registered trademark of Over Srl: a choice that ensures 100% Italian production, a short supply chain, and high quality standards.
For us, ‘Made in Italy’ is not a label — it is a concrete process, followed step by step.
What materials do we use for our products?
We place great importance on the quality of our canvas prints, made from 100% cotton — plastic‑free and naturally eco‑friendly.
We use GREENGUARD Gold‑certified inks, which ensure vibrant colors and exceptional long‑term stability, enhancing every historical and iconographic detail.
Likewise, for our cat beds we use corrugated cardboard, a fully eco‑sustainable material thanks to its recyclable nature.
A choice that combines environmental respect, functionality, and care for our four‑legged friends.
Difference between Textured Finish and Flat Finish
The textured finish allows for extremely realistic reproductions, adding depth and three‑dimensionality to the image.
Thanks to the use of up to nine layers of matte and glossy UV varnish, it creates a raised effect that simulates real brushstrokes and enhances the most distinctive details of the illustration.
High‑definition flat illustrations, on the other hand, use a single layer of matte UV varnish: they have no relief, but ensure vibrant, stable colors that remain resistant over time and to sunlight.
