Product description
This canvas celebrates the city of Mediolanum (modern‑day Milan), when in 222 BC the Romans conquered the main center of the Insubres and built their new city over the earlier Celtic settlement. Favored by its strategic position in the Po Valley and its abundance of water, the city quickly became a military and commercial hub. During the Republican era it was involved in the campaigns against the Celts and the Carthaginians, until the final subjugation of Cisalpine Gaul in the 2nd century BC.
Under Caesar, Mediolanum became the most important center of the region and in 49 BC obtained the status of municipium. During these years the forum, the theater, and the first city walls were developed. Brutus himself—the future assassin of Caesar—governed this province in 46 BC with such a strong sense of justice that the local populations erected a statue in his honor.
In the Imperial age the city grew further thanks to its proximity to the Germanic frontier. Between the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD it saw the birth of emperors such as Didius Julianus, Geta, and Marcus Aurelius Carus, and was equipped with major infrastructures: an amphitheater, grain warehouses, and above all the mint, active from 260 onward. The invasions of the Alemanni highlighted its role as a defensive outpost, prompting Gallienus to create a mobile strategic cavalry reserve based in the area.
The turning point came in 286, when Diocletian entrusted Maximian with the government of the Western Empire, choosing Mediolanum as the de facto western capital. The city was enriched with palaces, baths, a circus, and a second ring of walls, becoming one of the most splendid metropolises of the Empire, as Ausonius described. In 313, Constantine and Licinius issued the Edict of Milan here, granting freedom of worship to Christians.
In the 4th century Mediolanum was a major political and religious center: bishops such as Ambrose served here, emperors such as Constans, Constantius II, Gratian, Valentinian II, and finally Theodosius resided here, and councils and solemn ceremonies were held in the city. It also became a beacon of Western Christianity, the place of Saint Augustine’s conversion.
In 402, during Alaric’s siege, Emperor Honorius transferred the court to Ravenna, which was easier to defend. With this move ended the period in which Mediolanum served as the capital of the Western Roman Empire. And here, too, ends the period depicted by this canvas print.

Our Mission
Our project is a playful‑cultural experience designed for anyone who wants to live history in a new way:
from teenagers, who can approach the great events of the past in an engaging and enjoyable manner, to enthusiasts who wish to enrich their homes with artistic canvases capable of elegantly telling the stories and protagonists of our nation’s past.
The characters we portray are not simply figures from history: they are the roots of our identity, the voices that shaped our culture, our way of thinking, and even the places we inhabit.
Beyond visual impact, we want to restore the pleasure of touch: not only through the natural texture of cotton, but also through the tactile depth and glossy highlights achieved during printing — details that add dimension and a uniquely sensory feel.
In an age dominated by digital screens, our canvases invite you to rediscover an authentic, physical, and sensorial experience.
It is a product that blends quality and culture — but above all, it is an invitation to rediscover the pride of belonging to an extraordinary history.
Because being Italian means carrying with us a heritage that deserves to be celebrated.
Where are our products made?
Our products are entirely made in Italy, within the Over S.r.l. facility — a company active in the cardboard sector since 1978.
In 2025, a production department dedicated to digital printing for visual communication was introduced, allowing us to combine industrial expertise and aesthetic research within a single production space.
Every stage of the process takes place in‑house: from design to printing, from production to packaging, all the way to shipping. Everything is managed in our warehouse, giving us direct control over quality, materials, and timing.
IBAM is a registered trademark of Over Srl: a choice that ensures 100% Italian production, a short supply chain, and high quality standards.
For us, ‘Made in Italy’ is not a label — it is a concrete process, followed step by step.
What materials do we use for our products?
We place great importance on the quality of our canvas prints, made from 100% cotton — plastic‑free and naturally eco‑friendly.
We use GREENGUARD Gold‑certified inks, which ensure vibrant colors and exceptional long‑term stability, enhancing every historical and iconographic detail.
Likewise, for our cat beds we use corrugated cardboard, a fully eco‑sustainable material thanks to its recyclable nature.
A choice that combines environmental respect, functionality, and care for our four‑legged friends.
Difference between Textured Finish and Flat Finish
The textured finish allows for extremely realistic reproductions, adding depth and three‑dimensionality to the image.
Thanks to the use of up to nine layers of matte and glossy UV varnish, it creates a raised effect that simulates real brushstrokes and enhances the most distinctive details of the illustration.
High‑definition flat illustrations, on the other hand, use a single layer of matte UV varnish: they have no relief, but ensure vibrant, stable colors that remain resistant over time and to sunlight.
